I have been sharing my cancer story and participating in smaller-scale patient advocacy since 2021. I am joining the North Star Cancer Collective’s LEAG because so much of what they are working towards coincides with my current beliefs and aspirations for the system.
I am excited to be able to work with other individuals with diverse experiences towards a common goal! My experience with cancer is as someone who is queer, neurodiverse and living beyond Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
This is the perspective I want to bring to the LEAG as I believe the LGBTQ+ community is underrepresented within all spheres of cancer care. I am incredibly proud to be a queer person living beyond cancer and I want to use the experiences I have had due to my identity to contribute to the group.
