Current test and learn projects

We believe that lasting change starts with learning. That’s why we’re testing new ideas and approaches—grounded in evidence and lived experience—to understand what works best for children, young people and families affected by cancer.

Our test and learn projects are small-scale initiatives designed to explore solutions to the biggest challenges identified in our research. Each project answers critical questions, helping us to understand how we might scale impact across the system.

Drive change through the Collective Impact Initiative

Improving the long-term wellbeing of children and young people with cancer, and their families, requires greater collaboration across the whole system. This means being bold, innovative and embedding a test-and-learn mentality in our approach.

Develop shared insight for the system

Realising the North Star vision means that everyone across the system has access to the timely diagnosis, treatment and outcomes data. More opportunities to do collaborative research and learning are also vital.

Embed lived experience in creating the change

Creating a lived experience group - focused on action, advising and impact - means we can amplify overlooked voices and co-design support that meets real needs, shaping a more compassionate, equitable cancer care system for all.

Strengthen mental health support

We want to strengthen mental health support within and beyond treatment to benefit all children and young people with cancer, as well as their families.

The right information at the right time

We want to support children and young people with cancer and their families to have the right information at the right time throughout their cancer journey.

Strengthen long-term support and follow up

After treatment there is currently a sharp decline in support for young people. We want to change this.
