He/Him

I am joining the North Star Cancer Collective’s Lived Experience Advisory and Action Group because I want to use my personal experiences to support children, young people, and families navigating the challenges of cancer. I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of eight, which taught me first-hand the profound emotional, psychological, and practical challenges that patients and their families face.

More recently, my journey through infertility, and ultimately adopting my beautiful daughter, has given me further insight into the long-term impact of life-changing health experiences on families and the resilience required to navigate them.

Professionally, I have spent the past ten years leading national programmes in sports development, working to increase participation and inclusion in underserved communities. I have significant experience collaborating with teams, managing budgets, delivering large-scale initiatives, and building relationships with diverse stakeholders—skills I believe will be valuable in contributing to the Advisory Group.

I want to bring this combination of lived experience and professional expertise to help shape policies and programmes that truly meet the needs of children, young people, and families affected by cancer. I am particularly passionate about ensuring support extends beyond treatment, addressing mental health, information provision, and longer-term care.

Ultimately, I hope that by sharing my experiences, listening, and collaborating with the group, I can make a meaningful contribution that helps others feel supported, understood, and empowered during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
