Building a better future for children and young people with cancer, and their families. Together.

Current test and learn projects

  1. Create and Collaborate in the North Star Cancer Collective

Using more participatory methodological (systems) frameworks, we aim to map out the collective impact initiative work, while creating novel systemic learning and evaluation and building stronger inter-relationships, challenging power and shifting mental models within the collective initiative.

  2. Developing shared insight for the system

We aim to demonstrate genuine collaboration and shared insight in the current system, including supporting participants' expectations and ensuring community engagement at every stage. Our systemic interventions should be purposeful, practitioner-led, and context-specific, rather than merely observational and/or tokenistic.

  3. Creating a Lived Experience Action Group for the system

Current CYP engagement is limited, with only 47% of young people feeling involved in healthcare decisions, according to the NHS and its partners. We aim to embed youth voices through co-production, inclusive design, and systems practice, prioritising disadvantaged and underrepresented groups. A significant portion of this work involves listening to and recording stories from children and young people's lived experiences.
